Bantwal, Jun 1: Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik Ulippadiguthu and senior agriculture department officials held a meeting over the revival of barren land, here, for agriculture.

The district-in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary decided to provide Kaje rice to ration cardholders. The meeting was held to grow Kaje rice on the land that was left barren. The minister said that 400 acre of land is left barren in Bantwal out of which 160 acre land is suitable for agriculture. “We plan to grow paddy on 75 acre under the leadership of MLA Rajesh Naik on the nursery model this monsoon.

"The MLA has taken special initiative to grow paddy and I congratulate the MLA for this. We are confident of providing quality Kaje rice to ration cardholders in November.”

Bantwal tahsildar Rashmi S R, agricultural department joint director Dr Seetha, deputy directors of agriculture, Bhanuprakash, assistant director of agriculture Chennakeshava, agriculture department official Nandan Shenoy and staff members were present.
