Ramanagara, Jun 2: Feeling hurt and humiliated by the fact that their daughter those to marry her lover against their wishes, the parents of the girl ended their lives. This incident happened at H Byadarahalli in Channapatna taluk in the district.

Those who killed themselves were Ramesh and Shylaja. Ramesh was a former president of Byadarahalli gram panchayat. Ramesh belonged to Tenkanahalli village.

The couple's daughter had fallen in love with Ramesh, who operates an auto-rickshaw in Tenkanahalli village. The couple vehemently opposed their daughter's choice and tried to dissuade the lovers from continuing their affair, by holding counselling sessions with daughter and through mediation by the village elders. Both the youngsters had also promised to break away but continued with their relationship. The couple had become mentally subdued as a result.

Their daughter left home three days back. Late night on Monday, Ramesh received the photograph of his daughter having married her lover, Ramesh. The couple, who could not take this information, went to their plantation in the early hours of Monday and hanged themselves from a mango tree.

    Shame on the girl for killing her own parents due to her selfishness. She should not forget that she will face same tragedy later in her life. Its unfortunate that kids are neglecting their who did lots of sacrifice to grow up their children.
