Udupi, Jun 2: Malabar Gold & Diamonds here, distributed ration kits to 126 eligible families at various places in the district.

Ration kits were distributed to journalists in a programme held at Udupi Press Club. Udupi district working journalists' association president Rajesh Shetty, chief secretary Nazir Polya and others were present.

The kits were also distributed to poor families in the vicinity of Manipal Rajiv Nagar at the request of social worker Sudheer Nayak. Prabhaker Nayak, Vishnumoorthi Nayak, Vishnumoorthi Acharya, Deepu, gram panchayat members Fernandes and Sudheer Poojary were present.

The ration kits were distributed at Kolambo, Brahmavar on the request of Nagma Kajal of the third gender community, at Paniyoor gram in response to the request of Sushma and at Udyavar upon request of Purandara Tingalaya.

Malabar Gold & Diamonds charity in-charge Tanzim Shirva, Irshad, Nithin Shet, Taslim and Fayaz were present.
