Bantwal: 'Corona can be contained if health protocol is followed' - MLA Rajesh Naik

Bantwal, Jun 2: “There may be a possible third wave of coronavirus. But it can be controlled if we follow the government guidelines,” said Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik. He was speaking in a task force meeting held at Netlamudnur gram panchayat.

“Bantwal government hospital is well equipped with beds, oxygen and ICU facilities and there is no need for people to grow concerned. But the precautions should not be taken regardless” he said.

He obtained details of tests of those who are infected. He was informed that the vaccination camp was delayed in the village as it had been sealed down. “Members should obtain vaccinations as they are identified as frontline workers,” he said.

Tahsildar Rashmi S R said that those between the ages of 18 to 44 have been identified as priority groups. “The remaining people will receive vaccines in due time. Vaidyara Nade Halligala Kadege (Doctors for villages) programme is running successfully. Doctors will conduct medical examinations in villages if anybody has Covid symptoms,” she said.

Taluk panchayat executive officer Rajanna said that ward members should make sure that the infected should not step out of their homes.

The MLA also distributed kits on the occasion.

Vittal revenue inspector, Diwakar Muguliya, gram panchayat president, Sathish Kopparige, vice president, Shakila Krishnappa Poojary, development officer, A B Ajith Kumar, village accountant, Manjunath K H, gram panchayat members and task force members were present.
