Dharwad: D K Shivakumar fined Rs 10,000 for lockdown rule violation

Dharwad, Jun 3: Hubballi-Dharwad City Corporation imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president D K Shivakumar. He has been accused of violating lockdown rules.

On May 31, Shivakumar had arrived here and taken part in a programme organized near Mother Teresa statue near Sarvodaya Circle, Keshwarpur here. He had initiated oxygen and other facilities at this programme.

Allegedly, he had not maintained social distance at that time. The corporation had levied Rs 2,000 fine on Shivakumar on the same day. Now, another Rs 8,000 has been levied to him and notice has been served. Officer of the corporation, Nayana, stated that Hubballi-Dharwad district Congress president, Haltaf Hallur and N S Muzarai have been served with notices in this connection.

'Congress district president, Haltaf B Hallur condemned the action of the corporation. He accused the BJP leaders of unnecessarily imposing this fine as they were unable to appreciate social service initiatives of the Congress.

    If He had initiated oxygen and other facilities at this programme it with pure jealousy that they have been fined. D K Shivakumar is doing a lot during this pandemic times the local fellows are jealous of him.
