Bengaluru, Jun 4: In the midst of political developments taking place because of the alleged attempt by minister C P Yogeshwar, to replace the chief minister, a complaint was filed with the criminal investigation department against Yogeshwar.
The complainant has charged Yogeshwar of cheating the people through Mega City Developers Company. Raveendra Beleyoor, president of Mega City Site Owners’ Association, has filed this complaint. The complaint was handed over to the CID director general of police.
The complaint stated that during the period 1995-2000, Rs 70 crore was collected from 9,000 people. The consumers involved with the project have not got justice even after 25 years. In the complaint dated May 31, Raveendra Beleyoor said that the officials of Serious Offences office and CID had investigated the complaint and filed charge sheet. He said that even though investigations were held by different offices and a charge sheet was filed in the court, the consumers have not got any justice. He has urged the incident to be properly investigated.
Beleyoor said that the consumers’ forum had ordered payment of Rs 4.86 crore to 69 consumers but this has not been paid from 2006 onward. He claimed that action under the Investors Interest Protection Act was also not taken. He said that no steps have been taken against the culprits.
