Udupi:  Dist Police Distributes Recovered Stolen Assets Worth Rs 66.82 Lac

Udupi, Aug 25: The district police displayed stolen assets worth Rs 66.82 lac recovered during April 1 to July 30 – by them from April 1 to July 30 and also handed over the same to the rightful owners in a function held at the district police headquarters here on Wednesday August 25.

Under Karkala sub-division, the stolen goods - 130 grams of jewellery, gold ornaments, precious puja items including copper vessels, LPG cylinders in total worth Rs 10.47 lac out of Rs 12,53,200 were handed over to the rightful owners.

Under Kundapura sub-division, the stolen goods – 2 Maruti Omni, one mobile handset, one motor cycle, 102 sacks of cement, 6 cows, cash money of Rs 5,525 and jewellery approximately worth Rs 2,59,325 were handed over to rightful owners.

Under Udupi division, the stolen goods – 1 Nokia mobile handset, 700 rubber sheets, cash money of Rs 25,000, one auto rickshaw, one Kinetic Honda, one Maruti car and 950 grams of gold ornaments in all worth Rs 17,59,440 were handed over to rightful owners.

Out of stolen goods worth of Rs 32,71,965 recovered, nearly Rs 24,030,840 worth of goods were handed over on Wednesday. Superintendent of police Praveen Madhukar Pawar, assistant superintendent of police Venkateshappa and deputy superintendent of police Vishwanath Pandit were present.
