Holy Mass Marks Centenary Birth Anniversary of Mother Theresa

Mangalore, Aug 27: The centenary birth anniversary of Blessed Mother Theresa was celebrated with a Eucharistic celebration at Milagres parish, on Thursday August 26.
 
Mangalore diocesan vicar general Monsignor Denis Moras Prabhu celebrated the Holy Mass with diocesan clergy and priests from different congregations.
 
City deanery vicar Fr Stany Goveas in his homily to the faithful explained the virtues of Mother Theresa in serving the poorest of the poor and orphaned in the society during her life on earth.
 

St Joseph’s Seminary rector Fr John Martis read the message sent to the Missionaries of Charity, Mother Theresa’s Poor Homes, during the Holy Mass.
 
Milagres parish priest Fr Walter D’Mello, Bendore parish priest Fr Peter Noronha, Father Muller Medical College Hospital administrator Fr Richard Coelho, Jeppu parish priest Fr Andrew D’Souza, Mangala Jyothi – diocesan Biblical, Catechetical, and Liturgical Centre director Fr Boniface Pinto,  Fr Vincent D’Souza, Fr John Fernandes, Fr Santhosh Kamath, Father Muller Charitable Institutions chaplain Fr Felix Monteiro and other priests co-celebrated the Holy Mass to mark the centenary birth anniversary of Blessed Mother Theresa.
 
A large gathering of nuns and faithful were present on the occasion.
 
A telefilm on the biography of Blessed Mother Theresa was screened after the Holy Mass.
 
Sr Marie Deanne, superior of Missionaries of Charity, Mother Theresa Poor Homes, Mangalore, proposed the vote of thanks.
