Its good to hear about property exhibitions like the one recently concluded in Mangalore. Iam not sure if the exhibition held was a B2B one or one meant for common man who intends to buy a property either for investment or for personal use. So who is the real beneficiary? Construction/Property Indusrty or Common man? Is public infrastructure in Mangalore ready to take population influx created by upcoming highrises? While new properties are offered, is property price getting competitive or do we have speculation looming around to create that bubble which would always attract a risk of being bursted? Today property prices have become dearer and has gone beyond the means of common man, lets not forget that by taking property prices up, we are making property an unaffordable thing not only to us but also much worse to our future generation.

And not to forget the property crisis which has affected most of the world's economy including the US. The world's most successful economies are those which do not rely on property sector like for instance Germany and France. Is Excessive reliance on property sector for the growth of Managalore a right step? Do we have Developers who honestly intend to comply with Environmental Standards in substance and not use it as a marketing tool? Development is required but not at the cost of Environment, lets not forget the recent floods and other calamities stiking various places within our own country, precautuion is better than cure, lets be wise!

Moolur, Dubai - On same lines Mumbai was once a most sought after destination. What have you done with it today. No not Mangalore. Leave Mangalore alone and let it develop on its own terms. We want good manufacturing / Tech. industries to create jobs. Homes follow later.

The way the Mangalore shaping up really surprising. What Orion says is absolutely correct. Some might say things will improve. I would say what great changes have happened in Mangalore in last 10 years. Load shedding is still there, water problem also there sewerage you name it still there is problem. Saying that still new buildings coming up and I am sure there are people for these building. It’s very difficult to think negative about the Mangalore property.

I think what has happened is there are more people from neighboring cities like kasargod uppla, prefers to live in Mangalore only because of better life that in their city. I don’t think any other huge benefit. I don’t see any huge job opportunity in Mangalore. Many might say its coming when? Looking at the present scenario of the political system and attitude of the people it’s difficult to predict.

Any how as i see mangalore is developing for nothing as city itself have no parking,even at least a good childrens park (remove king) .why not palemar is looking to develop a famous Kadri park.
I think is not geting any his share as like builder!

Most of the projects which are being developed in Mangalore are catering to rich people. No developers are offering affordable houses which are much in demand. Take a look at the recent project launched by Value & Budget Housing Corporation in Bangalore (www.vbhc.com) houses starting from 5 lalks and on. Mr. Jerry Rao is doing a wonderful job by launching this project. We need projects of these kind instead of projects which are just catering to rich only.

While Managalore is good place for investment the pricing that each developer is quoting is very high compared to the infrastructure availability in the city. The roads both main and connecting, severage system are relatively poor to other Tier 2 cities in India. Most of the Builders are also not rated by CRISIL / ICRA so you run the risk of delayed posession.
