Astro Mohan Elected President of Udupi Press Photographers’ Association

Udupi, Aug 30: Udayavani’s senior photo-journalist Astro Mohan has been unanimously elected the president of Udupi Press Photographers’ Association.

Janardhan Kodavoor, photo-journalist of Vijaya Karnataka and Jayaprakash Kini, Udupi representative of Gulf Kannadiga.com has been chosen as the vice-president and secretary of the association respectively.

Astro Mohan hails from Bellary, and had his early education in a small village known as Cheekanahalli in Hassan District, high school education in Belgaum and degree education in Arts in Canara College, Mangalore. Excelling in almost all the genres of photography, Astro Mohan is a name to reckon with, in the world of photography. His photographs have not only been admired in India, but have gained world recognition and are widely acclaimed in USA, Singapore, Malaysia, and UAE. This gifted photographer
is a consultant for the photography and digital imaging industry and also actively takes part in many photographic workshops and seminars in India.

The newly elected office-bearers include association’s former president Hemanath Padubidri who is currently the Udupi photo-journalist for Daijiworld, Ganesh Kalyanpur., Umesh Kukkupalke, Nagaraj Rayapanamutt of Kundapur, Durgaprasad Kadiyali, Sharat Kanangi, Ganesh Beejadi of Kundapur and Santhosh Kundeshwar.
