Makkah: Screening process of Hajj pilgrimage applicants starts

Makkah, Jun 26: Saudi Press Agency reported that the process of screening of applications for this year’s Hajj pilgrimage started on Friday June 25.

The process is bifurcated into various categories according to the information provided by Dr Abdulfattah bin Sulaiman Mashat, deputy minister for Hajj and Umrah.

People who meet the conditions laid down for performing the Hajj are sent text messages to get themselves registered in the electronic portal of the ministry. These messages can be considered as final approval given after going through the available slots for the pilgrimage.

Hajj permit issuance registration steps are outlined by the ministry. One has to log on to the electronic portal, then the data of the applicant is verified and a companion’s addition is done if they register themselves on the portal.

Further steps also include reviewing and booking packages that are available, accepting of terms and conditions, payment through electronic mode and at the end, the applicant will be given a Hajj permit.
