Abu Dhabi: GMU, GEOTAR-Med LLC Moscow join hands for innovative technologies in medical education

Abu Dhabi, Jun 28: Gulf Medical University (GMU) signed an MOU with GEOTAR-Med LLC, which is a leading company in Russia providing complex turnkey solutions for medical education, involving its own scientific and manufacturing divisions to develop, produce and advance existing simulation equipment for education in healthcare professions.

The MOU signed between the two at Arab Health 2021 represented by Dr Hossam Hamdy chancellor of Gulf medical university and Zalim Balkizov CEO of GEOTAR, aims at developing international collaboration in the field of medical education through technologies, innovations, experience exchange, practical evaluation and validation of solutions for medical education, co-development of effective methods in simulation, collaborative research, lectures, symposiums.

Professor Hossam Hamdy, chancellor of GMU mentioned that this was an important collaboration that will develop new innovative technologies in the UAE as we share the same vision and values. Students from Gulf Medical University will have better practical experience. The students will also be exposed to the latest simulation technologies which will help them in their career growth. "We are happy to have such a partner and will collaborate and support them in anyway possible. We are very impressed with the quality of simulation provided by GEOTAR."

Zalim added, "It is not only about using the technology but how to make it effective and embed it in the curriculum. Gulf Medical University is leading the way in educating students through the use of technology and we are glad to have such a partner in the Middle East and UAE."
