Bengaluru: Corona robbed education of 33 lac students last year

Bengaluru, Jul 3: Corona has succeeded in subverting the very system of imparting education. It has forced people to get an education by remaining within the four walls of their houses. A survey conducted by the education department has revealed that online education that is impossible for 40 per cent of the children, deprived education for about 33 lac children last year.

All the schools in the state are closed for the last 15 months. Even though online education has been given impetus, lacs of children are unable to get it. The department of education has revealed the shocking truth that lacs of children did not get any education during 2020-21.

As per the survey, 40 per cent of students do not have online education facilities as they do not have television sets, internet, mobile, and digital technology. Over 14 lac children have no mobiles and over 21 lac students have basic mobile phones. Nearly 38 lac children have mobile phones but without internet service. 81 lac students are getting an education from television. 10.45 lac get education through radio. Even though the education minister wants to impart education through Doordarshan and radio, it is felt that to reach all the remaining children, some alternative plans will have to be thought of and implemented.

    first the govt claimed to make india as an digital country by initiating digital india but now when it was the time to setup they are now blaming corona.....may be digital india program aimed of mkaing statues, staduims and vistara........

    In Karnataka state there are state syllabus schools, cbse schools and icse schools. That is the big problem for to implement the actual idea of Vidyagama. Otherwise, the classes could have been conducted locally regardless the actual school of student and teacher.
