Riyadh, Jul 6: The total number of deaths due to Covid in the kingdom rose to 7,891 with 15 people reportedly dead on Monday July 5.

In addition, 1,247 new cases were reported. So far the total number of infected cases have reached 4,94,032 in the country. Out of which 11,773 cases are active. 1,350 are critical.

According to the health ministry, 1,429 patients recovered from the dreaded disease taking the total number of recoveries up to 4,74,368. The second dose of vaccine for people above the age of 40 is being administered now as per the information given by the health ministry.

Students in the age group of 12 to 18 years will be given the vaccine in the Eastern province by the education department.

The spokesperson for the education department said that the education department has provided all support to provide vaccines to 2,58,997 students between the ages of 12 to 18. Directives are given to limit the entry of people into government and education department facilities to prevent the spread of the disease.

In five regions, 10 mosques were reopened by the ministry of Islamic affairs after evacuating and sterilizing the prayer centers as 10 people tested positive for Covid.
