Bengaluru, Jul 8: Karnataka on Thursday, Jul 8 registered 2,530 new coronavirus cases.
As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 38,729. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally is 514.
As many as 62 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Thursday, with Bengaluru Urban alone recording 9 deaths and Ballari 11. With this, the death toll so far has risen to 35,663.
The state recorded 3,344 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 27,90,453.
So far, Karnataka has seen 28,64,868 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
The positivity rate for the day stands at 1.6% while the case fatality rate for the day is 2.45%.
As many as 2,49,00,211 people have received vaccination so far.
