Mangaluru, Jul 10: Rainfall has increased in coastal districts. Many parts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts received good rainfall on Friday. The rain persisted all through Friday night.

During the day, the city received intermittent rainfall. The rain was particularly heavy in the morning and again at night. At a few places, vehicles encountered problems in the moving on the roads as water got accumulated. Places like Bantwal, Puttur, Kadaba, Beltangady, Sullia, Moodbidri etc along with surrounding places received good rainfall.

The meteorological department has issued orange alert from July 10 morning to July 12 morning as there is possibility of rainfall of 115 mm to 264 mm. From 8.30 am on July 12 red alert has been issued for a period of 24 hours. Rainfall of over 205 mm is expected during this period. Possibility of strong wind and thunder has been predicted.

In view of the above, district and taluk level officers, nodal officers deployed for the purpose, and members of the local bodies should remain in their headquarters and be prepared to face exigencies. The people have to take all the precautions to stay away from rivers, water bodies, sea etc, a release from the office of the deputy commissioner stated.

    Georgee, why rain is partial ?? Always rains heavily in Permude, Bajpe and Mulky....Humne kya burayi ki ...yaha nahi barastha ? Is IMD doing partiality while issuing alerts??? Yekkeee somzana....
