Mangaluru/Udupi, July 11: Dakshina Kannada on Sunday, July 11 reported 195 new coronavirus cases and seven deaths, while Udupi reported 92 fresh cases.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 11,30,938 samples have been tested so far.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 95,424 out of which 2,175 are currently active. The positivity rate of district is 2.59%.

As many as 308 patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday.

The district recorded seven deaths due to coronavirus on Sunday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1315.

With cases steadily increasing, the district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 97,45,817 as fine in 79,880 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 7,13,185 samples have been tested so far.

As many as 92 new cases were reported on Saturday, taking the total number of cases to 67,607 out of which 901 are currently active.

A total of 93 patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday.

Coronavirus has claimed 401 lives in the district so far.

Till now, 4,41,871 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 1,44,822 have received the second dose.
