Mangalore: MIFSE College to Offer MBA in Safety Management

Mangalore, Sep 9: MBA in safety and managemnt course in Mangalore Institute of Fire and Safety Engineering (MIFSE) College affiliated to Mangalore University was inaugurated on Thursday September 9.

Vice chancellor Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Manasagangothri, Mysore Prof K S Rangappa inaugurated the formal programme at the Hotel Gateway here to mark the beginning of MBA programme in MIFSE.

Addressing the gathering, he said that the distance education like KSOU has been been introduced by the government to raise the percentage of higher education in India from current 2 percent to 20 percent whereas small nations like Malaysia that stresses on importance of education has 90 percent of students taking up higher education.

Speaking about the institution, he said that the MBA in institution has been approved only after due inspection of the college from all parameters including location. He also said that the courses offered in the college is attractive and job-oriented.

Mangalore Chemical and Fetilizer deputy general manager safety Mariyannvar, chief guest said that the people are lucky to have access to such courses as the college is situated in a place where industries
are situated. The people with courses like MBA in safety management will have a widescope for jobs in the industries like MCF and MRPL which trains employees on safety management in regular intervals, he
noted.

Chairman of MIFSE Ando Paul welcomed the gathering, while principal of MIFSE T K Sadeeshan introduced the guests.

MIFSE College is situated at CEE PEE Complex, Pumpwell.
