With due respect to all the comments below let us firstly thank the priest for taking such a good intiative and also the wonderful skit dance and prize distribution. Instead of demotivating and pin pointing let us appreciate the efforts put by them. As it is easy to give sacartic comments on all the people who have put the efforts but difficult to bring a smile on so many faces together.

Rather than giving such comments can anyone come forward and a hall for such events?????

hatts off to the priest and the performers.

I would like to inform one and all that, in our Lady of Arabia, Ahmadi Church, it is always taken proper care and pre-caution, so that the HOLY SACRAMENT is honored and respected. The HOLY SACRAMENT TABERNACLE is placed on the separate altar, with indicator-the continuous lighting lamp well secured with glass doors, on the left wing of the main altar. Only during the Eucharistic Celebration and Adoration Hours the HOLY COMMUNION is brought to the main altar with due respect. May be most of us are not aware of this fact and are under the impression that the HOLY SACRAMENT is dishonored.

Though, the skits were not related to Mother Mary, at the same time, they were neither hurting nor insulting. As we don’t have a separate auditorium or stadium in our Parish to accommodate the huge gathering of people, it is not worth to comment for conducting those activities in the main Altar. Any way, let us all join together and help the Religious / Clergy who are working hard for the betterment of the Parish.

Firstly I would like to mention that this is a forum where readers are free to express their views and opinions.

I couldnt help but post something I felt when a lot of readers are accusing one another for an ACT none here on the forum is able to justify. What Wilbon and Glan have done is expressed what they felt. One PARISHONER has explained very beautifully the role of the church. What I personally feel is that it is a church, and we all attend mass or visit the church with a feeling which we all hold dear to our hearts which is the holy sanctity of the place.

I do not blame the priest or the Bishop for the "Skit", but it would be advisable to refrain from such activities and maintain the Holy Sanctity it carries. This way we shall be less prone to adverse comments from the readers as well as parishoners, who feel hurt by such activities.

Any kind of comments should be swallowed with "a pinch of salt", neither needs to defend the priest or the bishop or accuse any of the readers for their comments. Best would be if someone could just own the problem and suggest an amicable remedy which could be sincerely appreciated. God bless us all!

Dear Pauline, I Don't blame Fr. Harry & Liturgy coordinator Precilla. They have done & arranged beautifully the Liturgy part which I witnessed in my own eyes. My suggestion is not to keep such skit in the church please. Keep these skits somewhere outside of the church, If the skit based on Mother Mary then I have no comments for this article blindly you go for it, the skit was totally out of religious way.

The way Wilbon and Glan commented, does not show the love or respect to the Church, Altar or Communion/Sacrament. It clearly reflects their hatred towards the organizers, Bishop and the Priest. This is the first ever attempt by a priest, tried to innovate something new, to give the faithful a unique experience. In the comedy skits, there were no any kind of vulgar words or any thing that is objectionabe.

Keep in mind that, this church has no auditorium or hall, to celebrate such an event. There is no harm in presenting a lighter part of lithurgical services. I request the people like Wilbon and Glan, not to discourage any priests or organizations, in any case.

These people does not know how to respect the Holy man like Bishop or priest, who are representative of Jesus Christ,in this world, are daring to teach respect to the Sacrament/Communion? If these people are cultured enough, never use the language, used to comment.

The rejoinder of Stephen Sequeira indicates that there was no ill intent . However, in future, the Parish Priest can solemnly shift the Blessed Sacrament to another area in the Church complex, like the parlor, or even the living quarters of the priest. Once the cultural programme is over and the church is cleaned and tidied up, the Blessed Sacrament can be returned to the Tabernacle inside the Church. This method is followed by small parishes that do not have the luxury of having a separate hall or any additional space to facilitate cultural programmes.

Firstly I agree with both Wilbon & Glan, church is not a place to play skits. It is a holy place where one goes to pray and thank the lord and not being entertained.

Secondly, to all the so called supporters who feel the skit was justified, I too live in Kuwait and have seen Ahmadi Church, it is not as small as one should start playing skits in church. Whether it was not close to alter or sacrament having itself in the church is very offending and disrespectful to the lord. If you really wish to pass messages you could have it done outside the church whereby fellowship meal was being served and not inside the church. If you look at the pictures you would realise how disgraceful it looks showing your back to the alter. Also, If you do not want people to comment on your pictures then do not have it published on a social website like daijiworld where the whole world is watching and judging you for your act.

Also, we do not find Kuwait a desert as we have the best of the facility available here. There are extra ordinary traditions being followed in Kuwait in the name of religion, which may not exist in India.

Our sincere request to all, please refrain having such kind of acts in the church and also publishing on social websites.

Lastly our message is not a personal attack but sharing our thoughts and should not hurt ones feelings. We do not mean to criticize but only trying to point what is wrong and which most of the people of Ahmadi would agree to.

Dear Shaun , There is no need to apologise to this people. There was a time in ahmadi parish where konkani mass attenders were 50 to 60 people. Now it is witnessing around 1000 crowd. This development is not seen by some of the commentators like wibson and glen. As I  acted in one of the moral skitt in on that day,

I have noticed that function after mass was not conducted on holy altar. I saw only priests and sancristans climbed altar during mass time. Function was below altar. Function was a formal thanks giving. My support is always with ahmadi parish priest and church.

I request wibson and glen to know about the fucntion more and more through attendees instead of coming to conclusion just by watching this photoes which might be made them to think negatively. In future kindly try to use the curtain so as close the altar.

Pls save our Christian faith, there was no message to carry home at all from this play, second skit was horrible on the Altar. you know many people just close their eyes during second skit. God help us.

    Dear Wilbon and Glan,

This was a maiden attempt/experience for QAKCA, Kiwait to organize Monti Fest traditionaly in this desert since it was enaugurated only four months back.

We had Holy Mass and after the Mass only we had celebrated the Feast. There was no link between Holy Mass and celebration of Feast. His excellency Bishop Camillo was our Guest for Celebration only. We had arranged the Fellowship Meal after the celebration and the available time between the third celebration we had arranged the small function. (as you may understand the space available in this country).

Anyway, we understand your religious feelings/comments, we respect it and if we hurt you, sincerely apologize.

Please do not blame the Priest as we got a real leader in our Church/Community. (You will be one of the follower of his, if I write about him). If you were present on the occasion, you will never blame him as he is a real messenger of God.

    Sincerely,

    Stephen Sequeira,
    QAKCA - Secretary

    Dear Wilbon,
This was a first attempt/experience to celebrate the Monti Fest in Ahmadi/Kuwait by QAKCA. The stage program was not a part of Holy Mass, it was conducted as a celebration of Feast with the gathered people after the Holy Mass. Bishop was our guest for the Feast Celebration only and there was no link between the celebration of feast with gathered people and a Holy Mass. We also arraged the Felloship Meal after Mass and the time between the both ceremonies was used by this way. If we had hurt your religious feelings/sentimanets sincerely apoligized. It will never repeated. Thanks for your comments/openions. We too children of God and always trying to serve the Word of God.
    Sincerely,
    On behalf of QAKCA

Well organised under the leadership and guidance of Rev. Fr. Harry. First time great success. Apperciation for all those behind to this success. Funfilled skit from UMK added more interest among the faithful. I hope every year the celebration of the Birthday of Mother Mary will continue with the blessing of our Lady of Arabia and the support of generous people. Delicious food to be remembered. Once again congratulation for the successful celebration of Monti Fest from Ahmadi Church. URBAN, JANET & FAMILY
