Udupi: Will urge state govt to implement 2-child policy - MLA Raghupathi Bhat

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (DV/HB)

Udupi, Jul 16: MLA K Raghupathi Bhat on Friday, July 16 stated that like the proposed population control bill in Uttar Pradesh, he will also urge the Karnataka government and chief minister, BS Yediyurappa to table the population control bill in the next assembly session.

"We can turn India into a factory which supplies human resources to the world if we implement the 2-child policy in the country," MLA said.

He was speaking during the World Population Day programme organised by the district administration, health department and family welfare department, zilla panchayat, State Government Employees Association, Udupi SKDRDP held at Pragathi Souda here.

"In the proposed two-child policy of Uttar Pradesh and Assam government, if the family has more than two children, the family will be deprived of all government facilities. A bill that is close to Uniform Civil Code should be implemented in the state. We should take an oath of having only two children. The government should bring a law on population control," MLA opined.

Globally, India is known to have the largest youth population. We will have enough human resources in the two-child policy (Ondu Beku, Eradu Saku). There will be an economic imbalance in the family if the family has more than two children.

DHO Dr Ram Rao and district vector-borne disease controller, Dr Prashanth Bhat were present as resources persons.

Udupi town municipal council president, Sumitra R Nayak, councillor, Harish Shetty, health officer, Dr Nagabushan Udupa, Vasanth Salian of SKDRDP, district president of State Government Employees Association, Subramanya Sherigar, taluk health officer, Vasudev Bhat were present.

There are many illegals from Bangladesh and Pakistan . Also Rohingyas. They are producing more children through two or three wives. What step government can take??. Their voting and ration card should be revoked. They are the jobless criminals and threat to the society, if government does not take action on them. These illegals have become vote bank in many states.

What govt facilities people are enjoying now with or without children which would be taken away if future parents have more than 2 children????????…To begin with this govt doesn’t have money to pay pending salaries of its own govt employees. This govt is robbing people by way of fuel price hike and then subsequent hike in price for all commodities. This govt is a total failure. It has no proper planning and no road map to implement any endeavour. Only endeavour it knows is divisive and communal rest is all fake talk.
