Jul 17: Dakshina Kannada reports 218 new Covid cases, 94 in Udupi; 6 deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 17: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, July 17 reported 218 new coronavirus cases, taking the total number of positive cases to 96,658. The positivity rate of the district is 2.89%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 11,71,969 samples have been tested, of which 10,75,311 are negative.

There are currently 1,980 active cases in the district.

As many as 200 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday.

The district recorded 5 deaths due to coronavirus on Saturday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,362.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 98,57,117 in fines for 80,899 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 7,32,470 samples have been tested so far.

As many as 94 new cases were reported on Saturday, taking the total number of cases to 68,198 out of which 865 are currently active.

A total of 130 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday, Coronavirus has claimed 404 lives in the district so far.

4,63,964 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 1,59,930 have received the second dose.
