Bengaluru, Jul 18: Even as Covid-19 infections as well as positivity rate and mortality rate is coming down in Karnataka, the State Government has opted to go in for a cautious approach in view of the imminent Third Wave and has decided to continue with most of the present restrictions and start the night curfew from 10 pm till 5 am instead of the present 9 pm to 5 am in the Unlock 4.0 in the State.

The only relaxation is allowing the Cinema Houses and Theatres to open with 50% capacity after three months.

The timing of the night curfew presently on from 9 pm till 5 am, will now start an hour later or from 10 pm till 5 am from Monday.

All other restrictions, especially the Covid appropriate behaviour of compulsory wearing of masks, maintaining social distancing and sanitation will continue.

Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, who held a meeting to review the Covid-19 pandemic situation in the State in view of the present Unlock 3.0 restrictions coming to an end from Monday, July 19, at his official residence Cauvery on Sunday, has decided to allow opening of Higher Education Institutions such as colleges in the State from July 26.

However, those students who have received at least one dose of vaccine will be allowed to attend the physical classes in the degree colleges. The other students will have to continue with their online classes.

The meeting decided not to allow Swimming Pools to be open in the interest of maintaining health of people and prevent spread of infections.

The restrictions on closure of Churches, Temples and Mosques for public services shall continue. But the people can visit the places of worship for private darshan subject to following the Covid norms.

The new guidelines will be in force till August 2.

Even though the State Government is under intense pressure to allow pubs and bars to be kept open for service in the premises, no decision was taken and the present restrictions is likely to continue.

The meeting decided to relax the Unlock conditions in a phased manner depending on the situation and the progress of vaccination.

Chief Secretary Ravi Kumar released the latest guidelines to be followed across the State from Monday.

Deputy Chief Minister and State Covid Task Force Head Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, who is also the Higher Education Minister, Revenue Minister R Ashok, Forest Minister Aravind Limbavali, Chief Secretary P Ravikumar, State Director General of Police Praveen Sood, Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Kamal Panth and other senior officials participated in the meeting.

@ Sanjeev Kamath, Udupi, Do you know that getting vaccine does not ensure you won't get infected. There is no immunity. This is not a vaccine at all. In my office I have at least 6 people who got both dozes of Pfizer vaccine and got infected. Obtaining vaccine again is never mandatory. Nobody can force you to take vaccines. As mentioned by Dev, there is no law which stipulates vaccinated only can attend physical classes. The million dollar question to the governments around the world is what after 2 dozes of vaccine? Will we keep getting booster shots all our life? Who will fund the booster shots? Moreover new issues are cropping up. Some countries insist only on certain brand vaccines or manufactured in a certain country. It's totally a mess.

Under which law the govt is barring unvaccinated from attending physical classes? Time to file criminal cases against those insisting them. Nobody has the right to deprive any students of their right to education for which they are eligible and paid full college fees to provide equal opportunities without discrimination on any new illegal orders which are in violation of Human Rights and constitutional rights.

It is the Law of Nature. Do not infect and do not get infected. The uneducated uncivilized illiterates need to be taught a minimum sense of public responsibility.

Safety of majority should be taken into consideration rather than the mindset of few. Look at new york. In the past few days covid cases are increasing all among unvacinated people....

@ Sanjeev, Got it wrong, Law of the nature is the more one is exposed to viruses and bacteria the more finetuned will be his immune system. The fake pandemic scare created by some vested interests to market their vaccines is against scientific evidence or studies which are based on Germ Theory. Ayurveda and Naturopathy are only based on natural laws which are healing and preventing diseases unlike most modern treatments by alopathy which keeps patients in chronic state and adverse drug reactions are creating more ailments. There is no pill for every ill and there are many ills caused by any pills. Again a single shoe fits all is the alopathy belief while alternative treatments see all patients have different bodily nature requiring different treatments. Alopathy is based on reductionist method while others are based on holistic approach. No study till today has proven vaccinated doesn't pass infections to others but themselves are getting infected with other corona variants and 86% in UK and Israel are in hospitals with corona virus again while unvaccinated are only 14% and most are with milder symptoms . Better get real facts and data before labelling others as illiterate or uneducated!

@ Daniel, You just believe in paid media and self proclaimed experts who are in bed with vaccine industries to market their unproven vaccines just like politicians who are on payroll of vaccine industries. Ground reports from all fake pandemic reported countries proves the reports are lies based on fake tests. No ICU and hospitals in those countries have covid patients all have milder symptoms while most have no symptoms at all, for this reason Fraud Fauci is crying- As cases are down there are no vaccine takers in US. They are closing more vaccine Center there and their toxin laden unproven experimental vaccines to now India and other third world countries. India has extended their expiry dates by 3 months to facilitate their èntry into our country. About fake story of unvaccinated getting infected I have answered in previous comment. More vaccinated countries have 86% covid patients now who were fully jabbed. To end youth from all over the world have very miniscule chance of getting infected or passing it to others as world wide data has proven.
