Kundapur, Jul 19: Examinations in three subjects for SSLC students were held, here, on Monday at 13 centres that come under the Kundapur block education office. Kundapur sub-divisional officer K Raju visited the examination centres and conducted inspections. Tahsildar Anandappa, education officer S K Padmanabha and other officials visited the centres.

Examinations in math, science and social science were smooth. The examinations were to begin at 10.15 am, but the students cheerfully arrived about an hour early revising for a short while before writing the examination after the long bell at 10.15 am.

Students wrote examinations at 13 centres including Siddapur Government PU College, Saraswathi School, Mother Theresa School at Shankernarayana, Government PU College, Sharada Vidyalaya, Basrur, Government School Bidkalkatte, Thekkatte, Kundapur Junior College, Venkataramana School, Mother Theresa School and St Philomenas Gangolli.

Students were made to undergo thermal scanning, maintain social distance, wear masks and use sanitisers. The necessary officials were present. The government has directed to provide free transport on the production of examination entry pass. Through the cooperation of donors and the Karnataka state primary school teachers association transport is arranged for students facing difficulties in reaching the centres. Campco donated surgical masks and N95 masks under the initiative of Kundapur MLA.

510 students wrote the examination at Kundapur Junior College which is the largest examination centre in the zone. The attendance was 100%. Teachers gave details to the students through loudspeakers. A few teachers were at the gate to guide the students. Three specially-abled students wrote the examination with the help of assistants.
