Kaup: Car turns turtle - Garage owner loses life

Kaup, Jul 20: A car plunged into a drain near Paniyoor Pajattakatte near Yellur on Uchila-Mudarangady Road after which the car fell upside down. The lone occupant of the car, who was a garage owner, lost his life in the incident which happened on the night of Sunday July 18.

Raveendra Poojary (38) from Kaup Koppalangady who was currently living in Palligudde, lost his life in the accident. He used to operate a garage near Korangrapady Cross, Udyavar. He went to Yellur on Sunday night and was turning when the accident happened, it is learnt.

The accident is thought to have occurred at around 11 pm on Sunday. But because vehicular traffic on this road is rare during the night, no one had noticed it for several hours. Newspaper distributors noticed the car on Monday morning after which they conveyed information to the concerned.

Raveendra Poojary is survived by mother, brothers, wife and two children. His wife Prema, happens to be a supervisor in Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project. Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon was among the people who visited the family and consoled the grieving family members.
