Udupi: Priests at Krishna math perform Mudra Dharana rituals for devotees

Udupi, Jul 20: The priests at Sri Krishna math performed homa ritual as part of Shayani Ekadashi. Vidyadheesha Theertha Sripada performed Mudra Dharana and Thaptha Mudra Dharana to Paryaya math’s Ishapriya Theertha Sripada and Palimar junior seer Vidyarajeshwara Theertha. The paryaya seer performed Mudra Dharana for devotees from 11 am to 2 pm at the math.

Tapta Mudra Dharana is a unique 'Vaishnava' practice in South India. Here, a mudra or seal with the symbol of Srihari Vishnu is stamped on the body. This ritual is observed on the Shukla Paksha Ekadasi in the Ashada month.

Mudra Dharana was held in the respective maths of Pejavar math Vishwaprasanna Swamy, Sode math’s Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamy and Shirur math’s Vedavardhana Theertha Swamy.
