Udupi, Jul 22: Congress workers in the district organised mass prayers in Anantheshwara temple and Raghavendra Math for the speedy recovery of former union minister and Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes.
Later speaking to the media, DCC president Ashok Kumar Kodevoor said, "Oscar Fernandes is a Gandhian. After his injury, his health is critical. Since childhood, he was into social service being an inspiration to us and a tall leader. Oscar built a party without discriminating against anyone. As we are not allowed to visit him, we are offering prayers to God for his recovery. We also requested the Congress leaders to perform mass prayers in their places by following Covid-19 guidelines."
Party leaders B Narasimha Murthy, Bhaskar Rao Kidiyur, Harish Kini, Murali Shetty, Kushala Shetty, Annayya Sehrigar, Prakiyath Shetty, Sathish Amin Padukere and others were present.
