Byndoor, Jul 22: With the onset of monsoon season, Kosalli Falls is brimming with water. The milky waterfall in its full bloom is attracting both the tourists and the trekkers.

Kosalli Falls is located near Shirur in Byndoor taluk. It is one of the tourist attractions where nature's bounty is visible in full flow. During the rainy season, the falls reminds one of Jog Falls. The falls is located amid thick forests and therefore has been endowed with nature. On the way to the falls, one comes across numerous mini streams which also make them happy.

To reach the falls one has to go eight km east on Toodalli road from Shirur near Byndoor. From there, one has to walk for four kilometers in the forest to reach the falls. The sound made by the falls and the ones by the animals and birds make people ecstatic. It is also called Abbi Falls, which many people term as Mini Jog. The water in the falls jumps down from a height of hundreds of feet. The water from the falls irrigates thousands of acres of farmland before reaching the Arabian Sea. This is a much sought after picnic spot.

Trekkers should note that it is not possible to go near the falls during the rainy season. They have to enjoy the view from a distance. Even though the falls has water till February it gets full force only in the rainy season. As there are stones on the way to the falls, one has to be extremely careful.
