Kundapur, Jul 22: Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake has described BJP as the party of the killers of activists. He was speaking in mass protests held urging the BJP government to hand over the case of the alleged murder of BJP activist Yadamoge Uday Ganiga by his own party men to CBI and against the increase of the prices of essential commodities.

“Twin murders of BJP activists have taken place at Kota during the term of BJP. While it was the murder of Kokkarne Pravin Poojary then, it is Uday Ganiga now. BJP leaders were involved in them. The families of the deceased in the cases have not received justice. BJP is the party that protects killers. The murders were pre planned. The protection of the accused can be seen in them. BJP is not even in a position to at least condole the deaths. BJP is only using its activists. Hand over the cases to CBI for impartial investigations,” he urged.

“The government has failed to manage Covid that has been disastrous for the country for the last two years. BJP which is criticizing the emergency has imposed artificial emergency during Covid by lockdown. The victims are not provided financial assistance and people have to approach BJP leaders for vaccines. Why haven’t the union or state governments implemented the financial package announced by Kerala or Andhra state governments?” he questioned.

“The prices of petrol, diesel and essential commodities have reached the sky. Electricity rates have peaked. Are you ruling or playing with the lives of people? Reduce the prices and save the lives of ordinary people soon,” he said.

“If anybody raises their voice against price rise and corruption in the government, the governments at the centre and the state send their IT and other investigating agencies threatening the people. It is not right. We will not be afraid,” he said against the government’s policy of privatization.
