Bengaluru, Jul 23: The migrant legislators, most of whom have become ministers, are going through jitters after the rumour about Yediyurappa's exit began doing rounds. As it is almost certain that the current chief minister will step down soon, these legislators who left the Congress and the JD(S) to join the BJP, are a little apprehensive about their likely positions in the BJP under the new regime. Yediyurappa had negotiated with them, managed the bypolls, ensured their victories, and made sure that promises made to them were kept.

On Thursday, five migrant ministers, K Sudhakar, Shivaram Hebbar, B C Patil, S T Somashekhar and Byrathi Basavaraj, rushed to the room of the chief minister with envelopes in hand after the cabinet meeting. This gave rise to speculation about their resignations. However, after meeting the chief minister, they clarified that they do not intend to resign and will be with Yediyurappa as long as he is in the party.

It is said that the chief minister pacified the worried migrant ministers and told them not to worry. Later, K Sudhakar said that they will follow the diktats of the party high command. He added that Yediyurappa will concentrate on organizing the party. He said the migrants are not worried, and if needed, they are ready to visit New Delhi. The other ministers said they met the chief minister relating to issues concerning their departments and not for any other purpose.
