Mangaluru: Rider killed in car-bike collision

Mangaluru, Jul 27: In an accident which occurred on Monday July 26 evening at Kadama on Balkunje-Kinnigoli road, a motor bike and car collided with each other. In this accident, the bike rider was killed and the pillion rider suffered injuries.

Umesh Poojary (31), a resident of Ulepady, was killed in the accident. The injured has been identified as Guruprasad (34) from Ulepady.

The car was moving towards Yellur in Udupi district from the direction of Puttur while the bike was being driven towards Ulepady from Karnire, it is said. Even though Umesh, who was seriously injured, was rushed to hospital immediately, he did not respond to treatments.

Umesh was employed in Muscat and had returned home during the lockdown first wave and worked with friend, Guruprasad near Nandkoor, Padubidri, it is said.

Surathkal traffic police visited the spot. A case has been registered against the car driver.

    This is a very unfortunate fatal accident, He died on his Birthday. My Wife is still depressed & shocked as she considered him as her Big Brother . My Condolences to his Family & Friends. Om Shanti, May his Soul attain Moksha.
