Mangalore United Team Owner Accused of Cheating

Bangalore, Sep 17 : The inaugural day of Karnataka Premier League season II witnessed controversy with a Mangalore businessman alleging that Moideen Bhawa, the owner of KPL team Mangalore United, and Bhawa’s brother B M Farooq had cheated him of Rs 1.10 crore, Bangalore Mirror, Bangalore's daily news paper reported.

Suvarna said, a Bangalore court directed Cubbon Park police on Thursday to investigate the matter after Suvarna filed a case.

Suvarna alleged, “Initially, Bhawa made me believe that we would be partners in Mangalore United. During bidding last year, Bhawa did not have any money. I gave him Rs 20 lakh through DD from my account at the Axis Bank, Sanjaynagar Branch.

However, Bhawa took to the bidding application in the name of his company Fiza Developers. I kept asking him to make a partnership deed, but he kept postponing. Later, I gave Rs 50 lakh to Fiza Developers from my Axis Bank account, then another Rs 40 lakh from my Bank of Patiala account.” Suvarna said he got to know Bhawa through mining business and was not connected with Fiza Developers. He said, “Once Bhawa  reaped profits through KPL, he started avoiding me. For the first six months, he kept saying he was busy and had no time to meet me. For the last three months he has even stopped taking my calls. We have invested white money and have all documents to prove it.”

In Good Times : Bava and Suvarna

Further he said, “This year, he has invited me to be a sponsor for the team. Why should I take it up? We invested so that we earn profits. Though I am an influential person in Mangalore, the police in Mangalore police did not accept my complaint against Bhawa. Hence, I decided to file a case in the magistrate court in Bangalore.”

When contacted at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, Bhawa, said, “He (Santosh Suvarna) is not a partner but was a co-sponsor of the team. As a co-sponsor he gave money for the team’s use. We have all documents clearly maintained and have nothing to hide.”

Business man is not fool. When more crooks are around, more wise will be the business people.

Crooks always have sugar coated tongue. When cheat others we donot get pain. When others cheat us, then we realise what is cheating is.

Dear Mr. Suvarna It is not considered as white money if the amount has been paid by Cheque or Draft. You should sign legal agreement or partnership deed before giving money.
Don't get surprised if you get sponsorship receipt soon

Ismail Bhai, you must be hoping very high to expect a clarity from Police investigation.. it is another flock of black sheep joining the fleet. Don't be surprised all these mud slinging between Mr B and Mr. S may end up scooping pound of flesh from the public money.

Without paperwork and without any documents, how fool are you Mr. Suvarna giving away so much money? I cann't believe this, you are saying its white money, where is the black money then? Mr. Bhawa might be thinking that the money you have transferred was of underground activities.

If our notes are black, Mr. Suvarna, it needs to go to its rightful place, which is the trash bin! So don't worry. If you really have earned this money, you wouldn't throw it away for a lousy thing like this.
