Karkala: Hotelier falls into pond, loses life

Karkala, Jul 29: S Purandar Herale (61), who was operating a hotel in Someshwar near Hebri and resident of Murse Kasanmakki, passed away after falling into a pond in his farm. This tragic incident happened on Tuesday July 27.

Herale had visited his farm near his house to examine the pump fixed to the pond for agricultural purposes. Accidentally he slipped and fell into the pond and died. He is survived by wife and two sons.

Herale was the president of the local milk producers’ cooperative society. He also was the priest of Someshwara Mahaganapati temple, amateur Yakshagana artiste and a patron of Seetanadi Ganapayya Shetty Foundation.
