Bengaluru, Jul 29: "I am happy that with the resignation of BS Yediyurappa as chief minister (CM), the 'Super CM' tag which some people had attached to me, has got detached from me. I am very happy about that," said state BJP vice president, B Y Vijayendra.

Speaking to media persons at the Raj Bhavan here, Vijayendra said that Bommai has been chosen as the CM in tune with the suggestions and advice of leaders and with the confidence reposed on him by the legislature party. He dismissed the analysis that Yediyurappa has achieved an upper hand in this issue as improper.

Vijayendra said that young leaders are expected to get preference in the new ministry, adding that he expects this from the central and state leaders. He also clarified that it is up to the party leaders to give him any post or responsibility and that he does not want to discuss the matter.

He also said that Bommai being a shadow CM of Yediyurappa is the figment of imagination. He asked the people not to attach any importance to such an analysis. At the same time he asserted that the party will treat the 17 legislators who crossed over to the BJP honourably as they came here by not only trusting Yediyurappa but also the BJP.

In the meantime, speaking at Mysuru, former CM Siddaramaiah commenting on Vijayendra's statement, said that admission by Vijayendra about getting relived of the 'Super CM' tag in itself is a confession from him of being a Super CM.
