Mangalore United Team Anthem Released Amid Glittering Ceremony

Bangalore, Sep 19: Fiza group, owner of Mangalore United cricket team under Karnataka Premier League (KPL) released its tem anthem recently in a glittering ceremony at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore.

Minister of sports and youth services Gulihatti Shekhar released the CD of the anthem. Four players from the Karavali region in Mangalore and Udupi district selected under merit were inducted into the Mangalore United team in the presence of Brijesh Patel, secretary, KSCA, Shanthi Nagar legislator  N A Haris and S V Ravi, DGM marketing, Godrej Properties Ltd.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister commended the efforts of Farookh and Bava for promoting the game of cricket under Karnataka Premier League and providing an opportunity to the players from the rural areas to play in KPL matches.

S V Ravi, applauding the team owners, said, "We are happy to associate with Fiza Group in being the main sponsor for team Mangalore United in KPL-2."

B M Farookh, CMD, Fiza Group welcomed the gathering while the vote of thanks was proposed by Moiddin Bava, president, D K District Minority Congress Committee.

Other co-sponsors for team Mangalore United for the 2010 edition - Rajesh T, GM, Greenko Group, Glen Reccani, MD, Acciona Energy Spain, Sheik Bareed, head - project development (south) - were also present.

Fiza group is a prime name in the field of development of non-conventional energy such as wind power, mini hydel and solar.
