Udupi, Aug 6: Social activist Ansar Ahmed has alleged that Hebri and Mudradi gram panchayat (GP) development officer Sadashiva Servegar has illegally constructed a house on the land belonging to the forest department. Ahmed has warned of violent protests if the concerned officials do not take suitable action in this connection.

Speaking at a press meet on Friday August 6, Ahmed said that panchayat development officer (PDO) Sadashiva Servegar has illegally constructed a house at Perdur gram survey No.296. He said, “A written complaint in this connection has
already been submitted to the Perdur panchayat through a social activist.

“As per documents, the PDO had obtained permission from Perdur gram panchayat to construct the structure on survey No. 73/3. But he is constructing the house on forest land purposely under survey No.296. He has also obtained temporary power connection and is paying electricity bills.

“A criminal case should be registered against Sadashiva Servegar and he should be dismissed from service. The illegal structure should be demolished,” urged Ahmed.

Pramod, Arun and Shahil Rehmat were present.
