Udupi, Aug 11: Robosoft Technologies, which was renowned as the first IT company of coastal Karnataka has been acquired by a Japanese company.
TechnoPro Holdings has agreed to buy 100% shares of Robosoft for Rs 805 crore. Responding to the matter Robosoft technologies confirmed that the current administrative board will carry on the operations with Ravi Teja Bommireddypalli as the CEO.
Robosoft develops applications, mobile apps, and gaming software for internet brands. At present Assent capital holds 37.3%, Kalaari capital 27% and Robosoft 35.7% of the shares. The Japanese company will buy 80% of shares in the first phase and 20% will be bought after a year of completion.
Robosoft Technologies, which started at Chitpadi in 1996 got shifted to ultramodern designed building near Santhekatte later. Company has expertise in product advisory, design and Analytics. Its central office is in Udupi, while Bengaluru and Mumbai have delivery centres. It has got sales centres in many countries including Japan and USA. More than 1,000 employees are working for Robosoft. With the purchase of the company by Japanese firm, the work area will be extended to the USA, Europe and Japan.
