Sonia Gandhi Rejects Siddaramaiah's Resignation

Bangalore, Sep 22 (PTI):
Congress president Sonia Gandhi has rejected the resignation of Siddaramaiah as the leader of Opposition in Karnataka Assembly, Union Minister Gulam Nabi Azad said here on Wednesday.

"Gandhi has asked Siddaramaiah to continue in the post," Azad, who is in-charge of Congress affairs in Karnataka, told reporters here.

Siddaramaiah had sent his resignation to Gandhi on September 17 owning moral responsibility for the defeat of Congress in the by-elections held for Gulbarga South and Kadur Assembly constituencies.

While JDS won the Gulbarga seat, BJP wrested Kadur seat from Congress.

Sonia Gandhi has taken a correct decision and now Siddu should concentrate on building the party in the state instead of thinking Kadur result.

Madam has to carry out major surgery in the party by removing the old guys like C K Jaffer Sherieff,Dharam Singh, D K Shivakumar, etc., who have been creating problems for the party continously during election time. Partly, we have to blame these guys for not winning in Kadur.

When party runs out of credible leaders, it can only resort to unknowns in the party.Siddu is an unknown as a congress leader, which is different than being leader of any other party. Very good decesion from Sonia. It is the lowest point for congress party in the state. It can be peril unless young leaders are injected to the helm. From our area, guys like Ivan D'Souza and Pramod Madhwaraj need to somehow get to B'lore. Do some hard work guys!.

Sonia Gandhi has taken correct and timely decision by not accepting Siddu's resignation. Siddu has fought for equity in the society, seen many hardships and harassments of the so called and self proclaimed son of the soils. He asserted that neglected, supressed and oppressed people of the society can no more be taken for granted. It may take time for these sections of the people to realise and rally behind him. His growing popularity among the masses has made Deve Gowda, BJP and some insiders in the state Congress to become nervous.

His achievement as a minister and Dy. CM was wonderful. He was the only Finance Minister in India who presented surplus budgets successively for 6 times and also achieved it. When he left the ministry he left with full of treasure in the state treasury and his tough fiscal measures helped this cow boy to become financial prodigy. Some of the intorerant critics had put his cartoon in paper showing along with sheeps to portray he was a Kuruba and he was suitable only to tend the sheep when he first became finance minister. But his ahievements were proved , they were wrong. Till I am having articles written by some of the IIM professors praising his budgets.

What more experiences and achievements are required to run the state? People will support for his simplicity, good moral and clean man image in politics. He is the next CM of Karnataka.

We need Siddu in state politics. Long live Siddu. Thanks to Sonia Gandhi for her good decision.

THIS REJECTION OF RESIGNATION IS NOTHING BUT DRAMA. CONGRESS HAS NO OTHER OPTION BUT TO REJECT THE RESIGNATION OF SIDDHU BECAUSE THERE IS NO OTHER IMMEDIATE SUBSTITUTE FOR HIS POST AT PRESENT.

Congratulations Siddu. Madam Sonia knows that you are the only person in the state Congress to take this communal BJP. My Kudos to Soniaji. Peace loving people were really worried to see the vacuum created by you and it is now great relief for them.

Siddu, you do not worry about the Kadur result. It was a result for the looted money, caste politics and misutilisation of official machinery by the ruling party. Your hard work definitely would bring results one day and Soniji is going to recognise your efforts in rebuilding the party in the state. Expose misdeeds of BJP and visit people all over the state to know their pulses. It will help you to devise your future strategy. Dr Mahadevappa and C M Ibrahim they will stand like pillers and bring the youngsters like Dinesh Gundu Rao, Salim Mohammed, Krishna Byregowda, students, all the sections of the society into the forefront. You deserve to be a CM of this state and it is going to happen and nobody can stop it. I wish you all the best.

    Madam is very intellegent.
she is proactive in cases of hard toiling leaders.Siddaramaiah deserves the blessings of millions. Because of his padayathra the lost glory of the state is restored. Madam please also see that useless old dark horses are advised to take VRS or elese show them their right places. OK. Why you know, present young generation don't want to see their piggy faces.

Siddu is the only bright shining star, person with mass following & having some morality in the congress party.

One day siddu will be the chief minister of Karnataka.

Like Yeddi siddu has fought many a battles in politics and has come up through the ranks till he was ditched by Dewegowda and his chor sons.

For the beleagured congress party siddu is only the hope to get peoples support & is much better than spent forces like kharge's, dharam's, sheriff's, bangarappa's and all oldies who are fit to be doubly retired by now.

High time soniaji, give VRS to all senior, useless congress leaders and promote young people only then can congress regain its lost glory in karnataka.
