Kundapur, Aug 10: Police on Wednesday August 11, rescued six stolen stray cattle while they were being transported to a slaughter house. Police have arrested the driver of the pickup vehicle in which the cattle were being transported.
It is said that members of a Hindu organisation had informed the police about the alleged illegal transport of the cattle.
The arrested accused is identified as Shabbir (35).
The accused reportedly was transporting stray cattle after lifting the animals from Yedthare near Byndoor in a pickup vehicle. He was transporting them towards Shiroor.
One Dinesh and his friend had informed the police who were on duty at the checkpost in Shiroor.
