Udupi: St Mary's College Shirva observes 'Rashtriya Sadbhavana Diwas'

Udupi, Aug 18: St Mary’s College, Shirva observed ‘Rashtriya Sadbhavana Diwas’ celebration at college premises on Wednesday, August 18. Dr Herald Ivan Monis, principal of the college said, "Sadbhavana Diwas is observed nation wide on August 20 every year. The theme of Sadbhavana is to promote national integration and communal harmony among all religions,languages and regions. The idea behind observance of 'Sadbhavana Diwas' is to eschew violence and to promote goodwill among the people."

This year, August 20 is falling on account of Moharam which is a holiday from central government offices. Therefore, this year, college observed 'Sadbhavana Diwas' celebration on August 18, 2021. He administered the pledge for ‘Sadbhavana' as per the guidelines issued by the government.

Yashoda, student council director, NCC officer lieutenant K Praveen Kumar, NSS programme officers Premanaatha, Raksha, Rovers and Rangers Scout leaders Prakasha and Sangeetha, students, teaching and administrative staff were present.
