Mangalore : Hundreds Participate in World Heart Day Run

Mangalore Sep 26: There were meaningful celebrations of 'World Heart Day' in the city by various medical, educational and such other institutions in the city on Sunday September 26.

KMC, Mangalore organized a marathon heart run to mark the celebration.

Inaugurating the marathon, district in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar said that people young and old, forgetting the age barrier should run to convey the message of good health on the occasion.










































Mangalore south MLA N Yogish Bhat said that people with heart problems should be educated on diet and lifestyle to be followed among others.

Athlete Hilda lighted the marathon torch, while police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh and Dean of KMC retired major general Raj Gopal were also present.

Marathon saw over 1000 participants including KMC medical students and students of schools along with their parents.

Meanwhile, Nitte K S Hegde Medical College (Kshema), Deralakatte students also too marked World Heart Day through a marathon run, which was inaugurated by police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh.

Chancellor of Nitte University Vinay Hegde and Dr M Shantaram Shetty, orthopaedic surgeon were present.

The marathon runners in the city through these events conveyed to the public on saving heart through banners and slogans creating awareness.

    "World Heart Day", marathon sent very good message to people to take care of their heart, along with they sent the message of love by wearing bright red(colour of Love and celebration) T'Shirts and carrying red heart shaped baloons.
