Air India to Operate Special Flights for CWG 2010


Mumbai, Sep 27 (IANS) Air India will operate two special flights from Auckland and Brisbane to New Delhi on Sep 27 and 29 to bring officials and players for the Commonwealth Games.

Air India is the official Partner Airline for the Games.

An airline official said AI 5411 with B777 LR aircraft will leave Auckland on Sep 27 7 p.m. and arrive at New Delhi on Sep 28 2:45 a.m.

The other flight, AI 5417 with B777 ER aircraft, will leave Brisbane Sep 29 at 9 p.m. and arrive at New Delhi Sep 30 at 4:55 a.m.

The national carrier has also launched two short-term promotional schemes for passengers travelling from Delhi between Oct 1 and Nov 14.

In the first scheme, Lucky 7, any individual travelling seven times on Air India domestic or international network in the economy class ex-Delhi during the scheme period will be awarded an economy class return ticket (two coupons) to any destination on the airline's domestic network ex-Delhi.

The second scheme, Jumble 12, entitles an individual presenting 12 original economy class boarding cards of the scheme period for the travel undertaken on Air India domestic or international networks ex-Delhi will get an economy class return ticket (two coupons) to any destination on Air India domestic network ex-Delhi.

All the boarding cards may or may not belong to the same passenger. However, one of the boarding cards should definitely be in name of the individual claiming the award ticket.
