Dubai: Ronald D'Souza Elected President of Bellevision

Dubai, Sep 27: Ronald D’Souza was elected new president of Bellevision (UAE) during the general body meeting of the organization held recently at Winny’s Restaurant in Karama, Dubai. A new executive committee was also elected by the general body for the year 2010-11.
 
The general body meeting was attended by the founder members, ex-presidents, the current committee members and other members  of Bellevision-UAE.

The meeting began with a prayer by Ashok Sunil D’Souza followed by a welcome address from the outgoing president Valerian Alva. Godwin D’Souza, the outgoing secretary presented the annual report to the gathering while the finance report was presented by the outgoing treasurer Sheryl Sequeira.

During the meeting, the members evaluated the activities conducted during the tenure of the outgoing executive committee. The evaluation was conducted by Ronald Saby D’Souza. The election of the new executive committee members began with a motivational speech from the former president Wilfred Menezes who also conducted the election of the new executive committee.
 
The following members were elected unanimously for the year 2010-11:
 
President: Ronald D’Souza
Vice president: Manoj D’Souza
secretary: Smitha D’Souza
Joint secretary: Anil D’Almeida
Treasurer: Gerald Mathias
Cultural secretary: Shanthi Saldanha
Sports secretary: Valerian Fernandes

Wilfred Castelino
Renita Mathias
Sharil Sequeira
Godwin D’Souza

The newly-elected president Ronald D’Souza has been with Bellevision since its inception and was the first treasurer of Bellevision Dubai. He is currently working for Inchcape Shipping Services and resides in Dubai with his wife Sarita D’Souza and children Reanne and Aron.

The outgoing president Valerian Alva thanked the committee and the members for their consistent support during their term and wished the new office-bearers all success. Thereafter, the outgoing office bearers handed over the duties to the newly-elected executive committee members.

All the members were given an opportunity to give their feedback and valuable suggestions. The general body meeting concluded with new president addressing the gathering and the programme concluded by thanking God with a hymn.
