Mangalore, Sep 27: A vaccination camp was organised for Hajj pilgrims of the district at Yenepoya Hospital here on Monday September 27.

The pilgrims,  who will soon be bound for the Islamic holy land in Saudi Arabia via direct flights to Jeddah from the city, were vaccinated for meningitis. Nearly 500 pilgrims were vaccinated during the day-long camp.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Naveen Kumar Kateel assured the pilgrims of adequate arrangements to ensure a safe Hajj.

Among those present were mayor Rajani Dugganna and chancellor of Yenepoya University Y Abdullah Kunhi.

The second and final Hajj vaccination camp will be held on Tuesday September 28 in Udupi. More than 800 pilgrims from the region are expected to catch the direct flight to Jeddah from the city this year.

ALONG WITH THE VACCINATION THESE PILGRIMS NEED SOME AWARENESS PROGRAMS BEFORE COMING TO A FOREIGN SOIL,SPECIALLY TO A HOLY CITY.MOST OF THE PEOPLES ARE FROM VILLAGES AND REMOTE AREAS AND THEY NEVER MOVED OUT OF THEIR PLACE.SUCH KIND OF PEOPLES ARE FACING MUCH DIFFICULTIES HERE.MOST OF THE TIME WE COULD FIND SUCH PEOPLES ARE LOST HERE AND THERE.

Good arrangement we all must appreciate it. Vaccination, counseling and safety regulation are the very important issues when you go in group and millions of people meet. Let us all help one another for better future and peace. May almighty God shower his blessings on all pilgrims and their family.
