CCCI Confers Annual Awards During General Body Meeting

The annual awards ceremony of the Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) was held during its eighth annual general body meeting at Hotel Kohinoor Continental banquet hall, J B Nagar, Andheri (East), here on Sunday September 26.
 
CCCI president Henry Lobo presided over the programme.
 
Syro Malankara Catholic Church Bishop Dr Jacob Mar Barnabas was the chief guest, while Grace Pinto, managing director, Ryan International Group of Education Institutions, was the guest of honour on the occasion.
 
CCCI annual awards were conferred on Alf Engineering Private Limited chairman Joseph D’Souza (top achiever), Vijaya Bank CEO Albert Tauro (public service), and Order of Mother Theresa Superior Sr Cristobel (social service).  Vijay Bank chief general manager Shashidar Rao accepted the award in the absence of Albert Tauro.
 

 

Speaking on the occasion, Bishop Barnabas said that the awards encourage the recipients to undertake social welfare activities.  “The business will flourish with due respect for Christian values”, he said.
 
Meanwhile, Bishop Jacob urged the entrepreneurs to lead a simple life, and try to contribute a little for the welfare of the orphaned and for social causes.
 
Grace Pinto said that CCCI has been laying emphasis on sharing entrepreneurial knowledge with the community in order to excel in businesses.  “The active participation of each member in the affairs of organization strengthens its mission”, she said.
 
CCCI executive president said that globalization has necessitated the exchange of entrepreneurial expertise.  “The association of entrepreneurs is effective in responding to IT driven businesses.  CCCI has been striving to realize the dreams of budding entrepreneurs form the backward Christian community by providing necessary advices on financial security etc”, he added. 
 
CCCI founder president Vincent Mathias, vice-presidents John D’Silva, Albert W D’Souza and Anthony Sequeira, and youth wing executive president Dr Richard Pereira were present on the dais.
 
CCCI directors Lawrence Coelho, William Sequeira, Agnello Rajesh Agharde, Rudolph Alse, Augustino G Fernandes, legal advisor lawyer Pius Vaz, advisory committee member Daniel Fernandes, tax committee chief Stanley Lasrado, shares and funds committee Joseph Menezes, city travel committee chief Walter Buthello, overseas tour committee chief Christopher Solomon, and M R Varghese were present on the occasion.
 
Kenneth Sequeira and Neisha Sylva compered the programme while executive secretary S K Swamy proposed the vote of thanks.
 
CCCI youth wing members staged a dance carnival as part of the entertainment programme.
