Mangaluru, Aug 21: On behalf of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), a memorandum was submitted to state home minister Araga Jnanendra, bringing to his attention the increasing number of anti-national and anti-social activities in Dakshina Kannada district and the entire coastal region.
"There have been several incidents of attacks on Hindus, assault, disturbing peace and harmony, spreading religious bigotry. Insulting Veer Savarkar at Kabaka, theft of cows and their slaughter, Love Jihad, religious conversions, sacrilegious acts against Hindu places of worship among other things, prove about the intentions of the concerned," were mentioned in the memorandum, said VHP leader Sharan Pumpwell.
He demanded registration of treason case relating to Kabaka incident. The minister was also urged to see that National Investigation Agency opens its office in the city in order to crush terrorist activities in coastal region.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad district president Gopal Kuthar, Bajrang Dal joint coordinator Muralikrishna Hasantadka, Bajrang Dal leader N Bhujanga Kulal, Hindu Jagran Vedike secretary Radhakishna Adyantaya, and vice president Kishore Kumar were present.
