Udupi, Aug 23: State minister for social welfare and backward classes welfare, Kota Srinjivas Poojary, on Monday August 23, noted that the caste-wise population census was ready during the period of Kantharaju. He recalled that he had, during the term of Siddaramaiah, had urged the government to table the report. He said he is not aware why the report was not published.
Poojary noted that some cases relating to the issue are pending in courts, adding that the concerned are eager to submit the report to the government. "We will think about the issue," he said.
On the issue of reopening of schools, he pointed out that schools in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu districts have not been opened as positivity rates remain high there. He advised the concerned to strictly follow covid19 guidelines in order to bring down the positivity rate. He advised all the district administrations to do this exercise.
Relating To remarks made by Ugrappa about the Jan Ashirwad Yatra, he said that Ugrappa has commented in his own way. "Ugrappa keeps issuing certificates to the government from time to time. We have organised Jan Ashirwad Yatra to listen to the problems of the people and to address them. It is being held as per the wishes of the Prime Minister. Our party will rise to power again. I feel Ugrappa supports our thoughts and ideas," he stated.
