Mangaluru, Aug 24: At the meeting relating to district disaster management and Covid control held on Monday August 23, it was decided to begin PU physical classes in the district in phases beginning from August 30 subject to certain conditions.
The students will have to bring RT-PCR negative reports without fail. Infected ones should be under quarantine compulsory for a period of seven days. After they come out of the quarantine, they need to undergo RT-PCR test again. If any of the students display symptoms of the pandemic, they should inform the local administration immediately. They have to follow Covid guidelines strictly.

Subject to the above conditions, colleges will be allowed to begin physical classes. In the coming days, ninth and tenth standards will be allowed to be conducted on similar conditions, the deputy commissioner said.
The deputy commissioner told the heads of private educational institutions to prepare a report about steps to be taken within their jurisdictions about ensuring that the students safely attend colleges. He asked them to discuss with education department officials and take steps as per the standard operating procedure of the government.
Minister S Angara, asked the colleges to inform their conditions and rules immediately under the current Covid conditions. He suggested to follow the steps undertaken at the time of holding SSLC and other examinations.

City mayor Premananda Shetty, district superintendent of police Rishikesh Sonawane, city corpooraiton commissioner Akshy Sridhar, zilla panchayat deputy secretary Anand Kumar and additional deputy commissioner Prajna Ammembala were present.
