Abu Dhabi: Karnataka Sangha to Celebrate Rajyotsava on Nov 5

Abu Dhabi, Sep 29: Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha will be celebrating Kannada Rajyotsava on Friday November 5, 2010, at India Social and Cultural Centre here, from 10 am to 6 pm.


Distinguished non-resident entrepreneurs and UAE Kannadiga patrons, Dr B R Shetty couple, will preside over the programme. Indian ambassador to UAE, M K Lokesh, will be the chief guest. Pranesh from Bangalore, famously known as ‘Gangavathi Beechi’ for his comic retorts and finding humour in every aspect of life, will be delivering a witty and humorous talk for about 90 minutes on this occasion.

Narasimha Joshi from Bangalore is all set to entertain the gathering with his talent in mimicking. Variety Kannada dances, group songs, Kannada skits, as well as spot and raffle prizes will be the other attractions of the event.

The Sangha has requested those who are interesting in presenting their group dances, group songs orr programmes in Kannada, to contact Ananth (050-7891843), or Manohar (050-5212079) as early as possible. It added that solo dances or singing, are not allowed.





Pratibha Puraskara for UAE Kannadiga Students:

The Sangha has decided to honour Kannadiga students in UAE, who have excelled in various fields during 2010, at the above function, to encourage talented youngsters. It has requested those students of grade X and XII, who have scored 90% or above marks in the board examination 2010, students who have excelled in sports and represented their school in India or abroad, winning gold, silver or bronze medals in such events, students who have excelled in extra curricular activities like literary, arts and quiz, and earned recognition from prominent authorities in India or abroad, as well as students who have earned HH Shaikh Hamdan Award, Dubai or Sharjah Award, to email their details to sarvo@eim.ae.
