Bantwal, Aug 24: A Jesuit priest, Fr Jerome Sequeira, a resident of Kallkuri from Siddakatte of Sangabettu village, who was stranded in strife-ridden Afghanistan, arrived at Delhi on Tuesday August 24.
Fr Jerome is working as the head in-charge of Jesuit Refugee Services (JRS), an international NGO in Kabul. Reportedly, when Fr Jerome was waiting for his friend Fr Robert Rodrigues from Thirthahalli, to depart to India, Taliban captured the airport in Afghanistan. Now along with Fr Robert, Fr Jerome has reached Delhi airport.
There is no clarity on whether Fr Jerome will travel to his native, neither his family members have confirmed it. It is said that Fr Jerome has been quarantined in Delhi according to government protocol.
