KIADB Scam: Minister Katta's Corporator Son Arrested

Bangalore, Sep 30 (PTI): In an embarrassment to the ruling BJP in the state, a minister's son and city corporator was arrested on Thursday September 30 on charges of trying to influence a witness in a case pertaining to alleged irregularities in payment of compensation to land owners by Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB).

The action against Katta Jagadish, son of IT-BT Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu, came after the witness tipped off Lokayukta police that he was being pressurised not to cooperate in the ongoing investigation into the issue being conducted by the anti-corruption watchdog.

The Lokayukta police said the complainant, Ramanjanappa had informed them that he was being pestered by Jagadish, a BJP corporator from Vasanthnagar ward. When he was asked to collect an amount of Rs one lakh from Jagadish''s residence today, he alerted them and they arrested Jagadish at his office, Additional Director General of Lokayukta Police, Rupak Kumar Dutta told PTI.

Jagadish will be produced before the Special Judge Lokayukta here, he said.

Lokayukta sleuths recently raided some KIADB officials for alleged irregularities in granting compensation.

    Katta's whole family involved in this scandal!BUT Chief Minister was not amused!!!!!Son's actions would be nowhere responsible for his dad's ministrial chair ??AMAZING statement from CM.Today he gone further and went on telling that he will open up "last ten years" bussiness of KIDAB(PROXY STATEMENT BY DB CHANDRE GOWDA,MP)!!!!The Phrese "LAST TEN YEARS" using for all scandal which happened in his tennure of (28 months)rule to counter and black mail the opposition parties.BJP GOVT OF KARNATAKA TRUELY AMAZING BUSSINESS TYCOON WHICH BOASTS THE PLANK OF DEVELOPMENT instead it is nothing but Yeddy's cabinet member's development!!??

    Congrates Lokayukta.....keep it up,at least you can make the goverment clean...corrupt ministers can be removed from the ministry by your effort.... congress canot work as a responsible opposition party in the state since many of the leaders rejected from voters and involved one or the other charges.

    Oh My God!!!! Mr. CM wants to make number one State in the country! Great achievements! Keep it up and let us know more "GOU MUKHA VYAGRARU". Hey… Hey…. WO…. WO… Karnataka State is number ONE in the world not only in India. We all must celebrate and next election we all must vote such CULPRITS to rule us. I feel BJP government is more dangerous than terrorist or Naxalities. What a wonderful ministers in our Karnataka State BJP government where we will never find: Rapist, Smugglers, Cheaters, Murderers, Fundamentalist, Corrupts, gangsters and this list will go on…… Really our CM Mr. Yeddi is great man and he made our state NUMBER ONE in the WORLD and he should be honored by ‘BHARATHADA MAHA KALLA’ award.

    This is nothing new. Close family members, specially the children of the Ministers become instant celebrities in their own right. Mostly they use their power in corruption and gain notoriety by threatening and terrorizing people. It is rare that anyone is found fighting for their rights. I really hope Ramajanappa gets police and public support as he had the guts to stand up against Katta Jagadish.
